ABOUT

HOUR13 is an American rock band formed in Salt Lake City, Utah.  They have been earning the love of their fans since 2008 through high energy shows, anthemic song writing, and deep personal lyrics.  Hour13 performs their own originally written music that is based on life experiences we can all relate to.  Hour13's journey has taken them to levels they never thought possible.  Hour13 has shared stages with many incredible bands including Fuel, Saving Abel, Gemini Syndrome, Ed Kowalczyk (formerly Live), Red Line Chemistry, Royal Bliss, Evans Blue, and Crossfade.

HISTORY

HOUR13 unofficially formed in 2006. That year, band founders Nick Brown and Mat Milton began playing acoustic music together in a century old farm house in West Jordan, Utah. The two would meet once a week to have a few drinks, relax and write music.  After creating their first two songs, "Once Home" and "Chosen" Mat contacted an old high school friend, Daren Johnson, and offered him a position as the band drummer. Daren accepted and the trio embarked on a mission to locate a bassist.  James Ortega filled that role in the summer of 2008 and the band was complete.  Thanks to their dear friend Kristopher Ottley, Hour13 landed their first official gig at Five Monkeys Bar in Murray, Utah on November 21, 2008.  Through time and experience they learned how to captivate crowds with their music, stage presence, and fan interaction.

The year 2011  became exceptionally integral to the growth of Hour13.  They released their debut album, "A Condescending Lullaby" on February 4th, 2011.  The album was well received and fan numbers increased heavily.  As a result of their high energy, intimate performances they were rewarded with offers to share stages with many incredible acts. However, bassist James Ortega chose to leave the band for personal reasons in December of 2011.  After holding auditions for a new bassist, the gods chose to once again be good to the band.  In February of 2012, Lisa Blake accepted the position.  Her style and approach quickly became an excellent addition to Hour13 and fans took notice.

Hour13 started leaving the state for mini-tours in the summer of 2012.  This required them to enter a whole new level of dedication and unfortunately family responsibilities weighed heavily upon drummer Daren Johnson.  He chose to leave the band to focus on personal endeavors in December of 2012.  Fortunately, good friend Aaron Cordes accepted the position of official Hour13 drummer within the month.  His experience and dedication to music helped to fine tune the overall musicianship of Hour13 as an entity.

Currently, Hour13 is focusing on new music, a new album release planned for spring of 2013, and solidifying an even stronger followings inside and outside of their home state, Utah.  Hour13 still owes all of their accomplishments to an ever-growing group of loyal fans and extremely supportive friends.  We publicly thank each and every one of you and will see you at the next show!
